A Port Canaveral Valentine’s Day

man holding flowers behind him as a surprise

Picture the sunset at sea. The horizon blazes in reds, pinks, and oranges. By your side is your spouse of 5, 10, 15, or some number of years. Maybe instead it’s a sweetheart that you met not too long ago, but as the sun slips down behind the horizon you know they are something special.  Or maybe you are single embarking on an adventure with good friends with hopes of finding some romance at sea.

Whatever you relationship status, a Valentines Day cruise is just the thing to bring warmth and dare we say a little excitement, back into hearts that have been together awhile, are new to each other, or perhaps just don’t want to spend Valentine’s Day alone.

Booking Your Valentines Day Cruise

Valentine’s Day isn’t quite as big of a day for the cruise lines as Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s. It lacks the associated time off work that is a given for most during those holidays. Having said that though it is still an incredibly popular time of the year to take a cruise, and your best bet for securing the cruise you want at the best possible price is to book as far in advance as possible. The alternative, like most holiday cruises, is to wait until the very last minute and try to score a deal on a cancelation.

The cruise lines are aware of the magical nature of being at sea with your sweetheart in a vast, mobile, full-service luxury hotel, and offer discounts on their romance packages for cruisers that go to sea on Valentine’s Day. Carnival is decorating their ships with heart shaped ice carvings, and instead of the normal towel animals you will find towel animal hearts waiting on your bed. Norwegian is breaking out bouquets of red roses to decorate the ship, and special drinks will be served until last call on Valentine’s Day. Royal Caribbean will host a sweethearts’ dance, and offer specials on couple’s spa packages. Disney will be offering special activities for families like making valentines for family members, and adult’s only spa specials.

If there is a drawback to these special Valentine’s Day cruises out of Port Canaveral, it’s that they’re all 7-day cruises.  While there is nothing quite as romantic as blowing off work for a week to celebrate the one you love with Caribbean destinations, specialty dining, and a variety of stage shows, we understand that not everyone can do that.  We are fairly certain that the one you love finds steady employment and a robust savings account as romantic as any cruise.

At least on the other 364 days of the year.

In this case, we recommend taking a look at the shorter 3 and 4-day couples cruises to the Bahamas, out of Port Canaveral.  They’re much more affordable and are something you can do over the Valentines Day weekend.  There is the disadvantage that they return to Port on Valentine’s Day itself meaning there is a possibility that you’ll spend the morning being hustled off the ship, and the evening waiting in the airport.

Unless you make other arrangements.

Go Port offers packages for cruisers at many hotels in the Port Canaveral area.  Many of which are on the beach and all of which can be customized with a post-cruise hotel stay.  You simply call our cruise experts at 321-735-8833, and they will happily tailor a stay at one of our hotel partners to include a romantic Valentine’s Day retreat the day after your cruise as well as the day before.

The possible hotels include the Hilton Cocoa Beach which overlooks the Atlantic. Only steps away from the beach, the perfect location to listen to the sound of the surf at night.

Picture, if you will, the sun rising over the Atlantic as viewed from the beach the day after Valentine’s.  You’ve had a wonderful cruise with your spouse of some years or your sweetheart of a few months, or you’re waking up with the number of someone with a wonderful smile and the promise to keep talking.
